Crop Health Dashboard
2024 β Amundata AgriTech Project
About
A Streamlit-based dashboard built for Amundata to help Sudanese farmers monitor crop health using satellite remote sensing data. The platform retrieves vegetation indices from Sentinel Hub and visualizes them on interactive maps, enabling data-driven agricultural decisions.
Key Features
Vegetation Indices
LAI (Leaf Area Index), CAB (Chlorophyll), and FCOVER metrics to assess plant health and canopy coverage.
True Color Imagery
View actual satellite photos of fields overlaid on Google Satellite basemaps.
Interactive Field Maps
Folium-powered maps with field boundaries, crop types, and click-to-explore functionality.
Draw & Add Fields
Draw polygons directly on the map to define new field boundaries for monitoring.
Time Series Analysis
Track vegetation metrics over the growing season with Plotly charts.
Multi-Client Support
Configurable for different agricultural clients across Sudan (Gezira, Managil, Qadarif regions).
Tech Stack
How It Works
- 1 Farmers' field boundaries are stored as GeoJSON polygons with crop type metadata
- 2 The app queries Sentinel Hub API for satellite data over each field
- 3 Vegetation indices (LAI, CAB, FCOVER) are computed from multispectral bands
- 4 Results are visualized as colored maps and time series charts
- 5 Farmers identify problem areas and track crop health over the season
